Common Land
H&H Bowe is the leading land agency firm in the north of England for advice on and management of Common Land.
We advise commoners associations, government departments and private and corporate owners of common land providing a complete service. This includes ecological surveys, negotiating complex internal agreements, valuation of rights and the administration of agri-environment schemes. Good access to civil servants, specialist lawyers and relevant NGOs ensures all aspects of a case are covered. Examples of our work include:
- Valuation and acquisition of all common rights from 70 commoners at Warcop Training Area
- Reversal of ministerial decision on allowing tenant’s non-registered rights to be eligible for SPS entitlements
- Application and successful negotiation of over 18,000 ha of common land into Environmental Stewardship since 2005
Julia Aglionby has been H & H Bowe Ltd's consultant on Commons and Upland Management since 2006, advising commoners, owners and government departments on the law and management of Common Land.
